Biography and CV

Carsten Corneliussen has since 2001 been a strategy adviser of business analysis and strategic communication for the national public service Danish Broadcasting Corporation (DR). In 2003-2005 he was also managing director for Nordic Radio Digital Initiative (NORDINI) on behalf of the Nordic public service and commercial DAB radio broadcasters. He was responsible for communications in introducing the first national DTT multiplex (DIGI-TV) in April 2006 and task force leader for the Danish DTT rollout in November 2009 as well as spokesperson for DIGI-TV. Presently he is working as senior adviser to the Director Generals Office and responsible for DRs Industry Relations.

Over the years Carsten Corneliussen has become known and recognized as a lecturer and presenter of business analysis and strategies concerning the impact of digital technology. He primarily received his training and education within the telecommunication community including computer science, business administration and communications. He is also a licensed Master Practitioner of NLP Psychology and certified in Spiral Dynamics Graves Values Model. He has accumulated an extensive knowledge and experience in telecommunications, IT architecture and digital networks, computer technology and electronic media (in particular the broadcast industry and in the cable & satellite industry) starting with more than twenty years employment within the Danish telecommunication company, Tele Danmark/TDC (1972-1993). Positions included Assistant Managing Director, Public Relations Manager and Marketing Manager for the Business Division, Director of Business Development for the Cable Television Division and Public Affairs Manager for the Values Added Services Division.

In 1994-1999 he founded and managed Creative Network – a business consultancy focusing on the emerging digital convergence between telecommunications, The Internet and electronic media. He published and edited the first Danish newsletter MediaWatch in February 1995. The newsletter was sold off in 1999 and is now owned by one of the major Danish newspapers. He also edited the newsletter "Outside TV2" exclusively for the management team in Danish public service broadcaster TV 2/Danmark during all 1997. In 1998 he edited the newsletter "Intelligence in Telecom" for EMC Computer Systems, Telecom Industry Group in Europe, and designed and constructed their Intranet website. A number of personal consultancy tasks for Creative Network have been managing director for NetMedia Technologies developing business and sales strategies for Internet-based technology; a business development plan for Pay Per View Danmark for the PPV-channel TVbio. Prior to this he has been with the South African/Dutch digital satellite television group, Nethold (now Canal Digital), responsible for acquisition of content in the Nordic and Central European region for radio and television services on the digital satellite platform. The assignment was based in London with Nethold Electronic Media during 1995-1996. Early 1995 he had a consultant agreement with Turner Broadcast System (CNN International) to establish cable carriage in Denmark. During most of 1994-1995 he was responsible for project management and development of "The Electronic Marketplace" for Copenhagen Cultural Capital 1996 Consortia. He has also been senior advisor to the Mongolian government acting as a consultant for Asia-Pacific Telecommunity (UNDP and the World Bank) to prepare new telecommunication legislation in Mongolia in 1994. Further he has been a consultant to a number of companies within the media and IT industry – e.g.: Price Waterhouse (Denmark), MultiChoice (Sweden), Multimedia Skills Ltd. (UK), Yankee Group (UK), Carmel Group (USA) - and has been a contributor to various magazines and newsletters in the industry.

In 2002 he founded strategix.dk focusing on knowledge transfer of the digitalisation and the impact and relations of future GNR (genetics, nano and robotics) technologies on society, organizations and individuals. He is the author of “Fra Kaos til ny orden? – e-anything” (2000) and several reports on broadband technologies, e.g.: "Digitale Medier" (1998) and “Time & Space” (2001). He wrote a white paper on Digital Radio "Future Radio is not Wireless" in 2003, and, in 2004, a book about the convergence of networks “In tune with the future” (both available in English). He also wrote a synopsis for a virtual book concept "Mennesker og teknologi" (published on this website since 2003) and followed that in 2004 by "Homo sapiens digitalis" (a synopsis in English is available on the website). Currently (2010) he is working on a new book named "Always ON" about the next generation networks for wireless and seamless personal networks and mobile and broadband TV. He is currently a board member in TeleTeknisk Selskab and participates in various advisory boards.
